  1. Interesting. Did he just not show up? Chicken out at the last minute? Get abducted on the way to the meeting?

    1. Yeah, it happened to a friend of mine. People can be such jerks.

  4. I will remain hopeful that he’s just been delayed unless of course he has emptied her bank account, then that feels hopeless. Tracey

    1. I think he chickened out and isn’t mature enough to own it. Thanks, Tracey!

  5. I try not to read any of the FF entries until I write my own story – but today, I am reading ahead of time – and wow – I like this a lot – could feel the anticiapation and the thud of waiting

  7. I can’t imagine using a dating app. I guess I’ve been married too long.

    1. I’ve never had any luck with them. Got burned twice. Thanks for stopping by!

  8. There have been far worse outcomes from meeting people from dating apps. I had one show up. 🫣 It was probably my fault since I picked her up. It was all downhill from there.

    1. Very true. I tried dating apps twice and got burnt both times. I shudder at the memory.

    1. I know. I should’ve done something different to make it funny rather than sad. Thank you, Keith.

  10. Maybe Marcus is actually a fat, ugly, 48-year-old virgin living in his mother’s basement and is not the person Lydia thought he was.

    1. Yes! Oh, that would’ve been hysterical if I’d made him show up at the train station… With his mommy!

  11. Oh, so sad, and especially after a seven-hour trip. The dating world can be cruel. Well done!

  12. Having met my beau through our blogs, when we first met in person (4 hour car ride for each of us) I never thought he would not be there. What an awful thing to do – chicken sh*t!!

  13. Dear A.M.

This is incredibly sad. You did a good job of creating the excitement. I felt the letdown at the end.

  15. I was afraid this is where it was leading. Very sad and more and more common these days. Hopefully she’ll learn the right lessons from it (of course, maybe he was injured on the way there or something and we’re all judging him harshly).
