    True Love

    October 28, 2018

Our task for this week at MMLM’s Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille: Try to describe reality as you are experience it in your life. This way of writing haiku is called “shasei”, it’s invented by Masaoka Shiki, one of the four greatest haiku poets ever and the haiku poet who brought haiku into the 20th century.

    Love is fickle and
fleeting and vain — but your lust
    will never leave you.

    The Moon and Me

    October 27, 2018

    did you see the Moon

    early this morning?
    ripe and luscious and ready

    to burst — remember
    when I was
    just like Her?

    Calixta

    October 24, 2018

This Cherita was written for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

but I failed to read the guidelines carefully. This should have been written in Tanka, Haiku, Senryu, Haibun, Etheree or Cinquain poetry forms. Ooops! Here’s mine anyway:

    Calixta bewitched her men

    as they dreamt, making them
    burn and ache with desire;

    craving her touch, her warmth.
They gave their honor for Calixta —
and were soon discarded like all the rest.

    No Man’s Land

    October 23, 2018

    No man
    was enough to
    satisfy Loretta,
and then she found the woman of
    her dreams.

    If you have to make

someone fall in love with you…

    I call that cheating.
