Cornered by the past and future; nowhere to be except here and now.

Moonlit dew glistens the kudzu vines overgrown, strangling roadside trees.

The moment we met it was obvious that you weren’t into me. Yet.

From the day we met I wanted us to be more than guard and inmate. We could be close friends maybe with benefits, but then I got paroled.

As the sun opens her sleepy eyes to the dawn, Robins feast on worms.
