Today’s prompt at The Daily Post is the word irksome.

Irksome. Now there’s a word for you.
One of the things I find irksome is when people have to make it about themselves.
You know the kind; the ones that have done, seen, or experienced everything that you have, only bigger, better, faster, shinier, or whatever.
They try to steal people’s thunder. It irritates the heck out of me.
Some of us aren’t blessed with an abundance of thunder. When some comes our way, would it kill them to let us enjoy it for a few fleeting moments?
So far, I’ve not come up with a creative and effective way to deal with a thunder stealer. All I can manage is to stare at them with a puzzled look on my face, and change the subject.
It’s not much fun and certainly doesn’t convey a message.
