The Bond

I was thrilled — no, ecstatic — when I learned I was pregnant with you. Each day I fell a little more in love as this tiny life grew and stirred inside me.

I couldn’t wait for you to be born so I could finally meet you!  Yet, I feared losing the special bond that only we could share.

I imagined what you’d look like with your father’s green eyes and my curly blonde hair, or perhaps my brown eyes and his black hair.

O, had you lived, my precious, precious angel.

O, had you lived!

Beautifully done! I’m a writer; I knew your story couldn’t end well, so I should have been ready for those shocking final lines, and yet you lulled me into a sense of peace with those eighty two words that preceded them.
    Bravo!

Thank you for stopping by, babyruthbeer. It is sad, and I am not sure where it came from.

Oh, I’m relieved–See how it is on the blogs? Strangers get personally involved over heart matters <3

Thanks for caring. I think that’s what’s so cool about Blogging: people really do care on a personal level.

It’s an amazing “tech phenomena”–people can become attached to those they’ll likely never meet :) The woman I now consider my sister and best friend is no longer blogging, but we’ve been emailing for 6 years. She’s been an incredible support–and says it’s mutual :)

A whole new world has opened up for me, too, since the technology explosion.
