Calixta

This Cherita was written for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday

but I failed to read the guidelines carefully. This should have been written in Tanka, Haiku, Senryu, Haibun, Etheree or Cinquain poetry forms. Ooops! Here’s mine anyway:

Calixta bewitched her men

as they dreamt, making them
burn and ache with desire;

craving her touch, her warmth.
They gave their honor for Calixta —
and were soon discarded like all the rest.

        Often hesitate posting some of my work too. Then I post and get all kinds of inspiring comments. We criticize our-self too much.🙂

    Lovely form for storytelling, Abject Muse. :D No syllable count though. A Cherita poem deals with stanzas – now, if it had a syllable count to go with the stanzas it would have been perfect. You told a fabulous story. <3

    1. Thank you, Colleen. Maybe I will try modifying it into an impressive amount of syllables.

        LOL! That’s funny! Remember this challenge is for syllabic poetry. <3

      2. Oh, geez. Now *that* is embarrassing. I never was much good at connecting the dots. :-)
