It’s Quadrille Monday over at the dVerse Poets Pub. The writing prompt is spoil.

You should be mine,

heart and soul, like

it was meant to be.

But no. You just had to

fall in love with

that one. Couldn’t you

have waited? Wasn’t I

worth it? My impatient

love, you’ve spoiled everything —

you and your damn wife.

Spoil prompt has brought out the flip sides a lot , of jealousy, of honesty, of… apples? It has been fun, unexpected twists.

Ha.. the best ones are always taken… sometimes second best is better still

But if they were second best, they wouldn’t be best, would they? :-)

Sigh the sting of love and attraction towards someone whom we can never hope to have … the longing and ache is palpable in your poem 🍁❤

Thanks so much, sanaarizvi. We can’t always get what we want, sadly.

Well that’s an interesting conversation-poem! And the final line is the twist on the femme fatale…except it’s the wife who ends it all! Unique and really-enoyed-it response to the prompt!

      Thanks so much Lillian! :-)
