Backward Glance

SusanWritesPrecise/Susan Marie Shuman

O, the times

I’d tried to give you

my heart, only to watch you

furrow your brow smooth

your mustache, and then

turn on your heel and walk briskly

back to your life — without so much

as a backward glance.

    1. Thank you, Violet. Oh, *I* definitely would’ve screamed and used vile language, but My alter-ego is somewhat of a doormat. :-)

O the beast! Untamed and untameable, but she fixated all the same, but yet, ultimately denied. What a bounder, what a cad!

If only he’d paused for a moment to stroke his beard as well as his ‘tasche, she might have been in with half a chance lol :)

    Have a great week.

    Namaste :)

Indeed, it was not her day for Love…she chose a waggish rogue – perhaps it was the allure of a ‘bad-boy?’ :)

Some battles of the heart we win, some we lose, some we wish we’d never been part of.

As Oscar Wilde once declared: ‘Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.’ Ce la vie.

Take care. Catch up next week should you partake of the challenge.

        Namaste :)
