One Candle Burning

Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #69: Returning to Now. This week our mission is to create a Haiku, and then a Troiku out of that.

One candle burning

monks deep in meditation

Buddha’s dimpled cheeks.

One candle burning

snow melts on Tibetan peaks

all is connected.

Monks deep in meditation

their stomachs growling

No one notices.

Buddha’s dimpled cheeks

his swollen tummy jiggles

a ticklish fellow

all is connected

in this cryptic microcosm

everyone calls home.

I love this image of Buddha’s jiggling tummy. But above that, I love the overall imagery of the poem. :)
