In Nubibus

I sense them trying to form.

the sudden, mad syllabic rush

as if each thought is

battling to be voiced in unison.

A thunderous blast of wordlessness

everything and nothing —

an aborted cacophony —

utterances never to be heard,

over a blur of muted tears.

Oh, I feel this, deeply. May those syllables be freed, and given back their voice.

It is at times very noisy in our heads Susan, making it difficult to sort and assemble our thoughts.

That’s for sure. Those voices in my head need to keep it down. :-)

There is sadness in trying to find the right words to let the inner voice be free.

tears act like plugs for the ears. sometimes better to let the body feel and visit the words later…

Agreed. Sometimes it’s scary to feel all that. That’s life though, eh?

Your quadrille has captured a familiar feeling, Susan, especially in the ‘thunderous blast of wordlessness’ and the ‘blur of muted tears’.

Oh so many voices are silenced by the noise of others… may they be given the silence to be heard.

Clouds without rain don’t water. so well crafted, you have expressed an obscure sorrow, the feeling of being ready to let the ideas and the feelings flow, and then held back by some sort of circumspection.
