It’s Quadrille Monday over at the dVerse Poets Pub! Today’s task is to create a poem of 44 words using the word, fill.

It was mid-July when I saw you

for the first time.

Stars dazzle the midnight

sky but quickly fade

compared

to the stars in my eyes.

Your voice like

warm scotch:

smooth

rich

velvet.

The moon

full and bursting

gold.

You hung it,

yes?

I like your comparison to stars at midnight to stars in one’s eyes.

When I was a young boy I was convinced that my father had hung up the moon…

I always thought my mom hung it when I was little. Turns out I was right :-)

    You hung it, yes?
