The Blur

It’s Poetics time at the dVerse Poets Pub! Tonight, our prompt is “looking out the window.”

Peering through the window

of my mind’s eye

now smudged thick

with the fingerprint

of time,

distorted

by memories

of trying to remember.

Still I see you

and me

the way we were

all those years ago.

And I smile

through

the blur.

  1. Aww, this is very beautiful. I love how you included the theme of time through that window, and especially imagination. We can see our memories through different windows as the scenery changes. That’s a brilliant meaning from this poem. Lovely piece, yet again. It’s a fascinating take on today’s prompt! Love it. <3

  2. What a remarkable image you’ve chosen – time, erasing and forgetting and in your verse, despite it all, finding that memory to hold on to and find comfort. Thanks for joining in today with such a creative response.

This is so delicately written. Thank heaven we have our memories , even though they’re a bit blurred!
