This weekend at SammiScribbles Weekend Writing Prompt we are to write a poem or short story using the word tarnish using exactly 55 words.


Ariella knew they thought she was a trophy wife. She knew better. Jimmy had changed; he wasn’t the Casanova he once was. Twenty years of marriage and not once did he stray. She felt it in her heart — until she caught him with a younger woman.

Guess I must’ve tarnished, she thought, grabbing a knife.
