Once again, it’s time for Chelsea Ann Owens’ Weekly Terrible Poetry Contest. Our writing prompt is Springtime, and my terrible poem is below.

Springtime in the Dirty South

don’t last fer long

Well, hush my mouth!

 

Magnolia trees are the best part

smell so fresh an’ sweet

ain’t like Bubba-Jean’s dirty feet.

 

Tiny birds chirp & slurp

the juicy worms

they find in dirt

 

In a couple weeks

spring is over

and you will sweat

like an ogre.

Cuz now it’s summer.

    Friday, 3/29 and in this far northeastern corner of Vermont, a couple miles from the Canadian border, they’re predicting 3-5 inches of new overnight snow. My feet don’t stink, but can I come visit anyway? Dug yer flashback!
