PLEAD
PLAID
PLAYED
Stanley was trying to get himself ready for court. The trouble was he couldn’t decide what to wear. Hi wife, Monique, told him to keep it simple; look professional and understated. Stanley, though, had his heart set on wearing his new plaid jacket and vest.
“Stanley, please!” Monique plead. “You can’t wear that to court! You want people to laugh at you?”
“Nothing is wrong with me,” Stanley explained quietly. “I just want to wear plaid today. Something different, y’know?”
“I think you are making a mistake,” Monique cautioned. “But do what you want. You’re going to anyway.”
“YIPEEEE!” Stanley shouted.
Monique rolled her eyes. “I’m going to start the laundry.”
Stanley commenced to deck himself out in his new plaid outfit and added a green bow tie for good measure.
He arrived at the courthouse court and went straight to the judge’s chambers. He found his robe and put it on. Looking in the mirror, he made a sad realization. It didn’t matter if he wore plaid, stripes, or whatever. How could I have forgotten? The robe covered it up anyway.
“Dragsville,” Stanley sighed.
