  1. I hope that the Division of Family Services doesn’t hear about Christopher’s parents.

    1. Hmmm. I didn’t think of that. But maybe if they met Christopher they’d understand. :-)

  2. I’ve known of kids like that. One Dad turned round and left Bratface rolling on the floor by himself. The kid soon stopped misbehaving.

    1. I wonder why more parents don’t do that? It’s so much easier than trying to fight with the kid.

      1. I’d leave them to it too.

      2. I don’t have children so I probably shouldn’t opine on this. :-)

      3. Me neither but ex partner had two youngsters (3 and 5) when I moved in and I wouldn’t stand for any nonsense from either of them!
I remember one lady in a supermarket queue harshly reprimanding her daughter (who was being impossible!) by making her put her sweets back. She turned to me saying she thought I must think she was a bad mother. I told her not at all. It made a pleasant change for an adult to put the child in their place and not reward them for bad behaviour.

      4. Good for you! I really hate to see a parent cave & let the kid have their way.

      5. I worked with two women who both rewarded their (only) children for bad behaviour. One’s son was excluded from school for biting a teacher, thumping a classmate, and throwing a chair through the window. They took him on a spending spree for video games. The other bought her daughter an expensive dress (over £200) for a classmate’s birthday party as she threw a tantrum in the shop, then paid another £95 for her to have her hair braided. She was 8.

      6. I shudder to think where those kids might be today. Let’s hope they didn’t procreate.

      9. To be honest, I dread to think what their attitudes would be. Demanding and sulking when not getting what they want. Then again, maybe they turned out OK. Long time ago now and no way I am likely to find out.
