Vivika admired the 4-carat yellow topaz ring sparkling on her ring finger. A seventh-generation witch, she crafted it herself even though the elders counselled against it.
“Some things aren’t meant to be created, and this is one of them, Vivika,” the crones told her. “Listen to us!”
Vivika shrugged at the memory. Whatever. Those old broads are just jealous.
Suddenly, a shaft of blue lightening crackled through a slit in the roof that wasn’t there previously. It found its way to the ring on Vivika’s finger, and ZAP!!! The ring crumbled to black dust and a nasty burn was left on her finger.
“Old broads? Really?” A mocking voice boomed in her ears.
